F-5 fighter jet crashes in southern Iran

TEHRAN – An F-5 fighter jet operated by the Air Force crashed in the southern province of Khuzestan on Sunday afternoon, leaving the pilot dead.

“The fighter jet crashed in Dezfoul and Colonel (Manouchehr) Fattahi, the pilot, was martyred,” Fars quoted Dezfoul Police Chief Ali Elhami as saying.

Elhami added that further details will be released after thorough investigation into the cause of the incident.
